Graduate Assistant - Exercise Physiology in Human Performance

Ohio University is seeking candidates for one-year Master of Science in Exercise Physiology in Human Performance, with a start date of mid-May 2023. We are looking for eager, enthusiastic individuals looking to pursue a career as a strength and conditioning coach, sports scientist, or Ph.D. candidate in exercise/sports science. The program uniquely prepares you for the professional workforce in a summer-to-summer, 34-hour program (three semesters on campus, one semester off campus). You will gain invaluable day-to-day coaching and sports science experience while working in direct collaboration with the professional strength and conditioning staff and student-athletes of Ohio University Athletics, an NCAA Division I-FBS program with 16 varsity sports. This program offers you practical experiences in the following;
1.Learn from and assist the strength and conditioning staff with developing and implementing strength and conditioning and monitoring programs for designated sports.
2.Provide instruction for safe and effective lifting techniques and equipment used under the strength and conditioning staff.
3.Gain insight into the data collection and analysis of GPS, HR, RPE, and force platforms.
4.Supervise the training and conditioning of designated sports teams (for students with CSCS or CSCCA certification).
5.Identify how to utilize data collected from games and practice for sports performance improvement and presentation to coaches.
6.Internship opportunities while completing course and degree requirements.
Graduate assistantships are available and include a waiver of tuition and a monthly stipend.
