Description:
The Department of Biological & Biomedical Sciences is seeking to hire qualified individuals as full-time Lecturer; candidates with exceptional experience may be hired at the Senior or Master Lecturer level. These 10-month faculty positions are non-tenure track but offer renewable multi-year contracts. The positions require a teaching load of 24 credit hours per academic year with the opportunity to teach overload courses for additional compensation. Teaching assignments will be focused on a two-course sequence in Human Anatomy & Physiology, but may include other courses depending on departmental needs.
Successful candidates will be expected to perform course coordination in Human Anatomy & Physiology including re-envisioning course delivery mode, developing new lecture and laboratory exercises using modern pedagogical approaches, and oversight of graduate teaching fellows and adjunct instructors. Additional service may include department, college, and/or university-level committees, advising student clubs, and/or other student-focused activities.
Qualifications:
A master's degree or higher in biological sciences, or closely related discipline, is required. A Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. is strongly preferred.
Deep knowledge of anatomy and physiology and expertise in best pedagogical practices
Prior teaching experience is expected
Ability to prepare and organize laboratory and demonstration materials
Strong ability to set priorities
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to solve problems creatively in an evolving environment
