The Department of Molecular & Integrative Physiology and the Caswell Diabetes Institute at the University of Michigan Medical School invite applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with preference given to applicants seeking their first position or current assistant professors. We seek outstanding colleagues, whose research addresses cutting-edge questions in an area of physiology related to diabetes (Type 1 or Type 2), obesity, metabolism, and/or the complications of these diseases, to join an inclusive and very supportive departmental community that prioritizes transformative science along with training the next generation of scientific leaders.
Successful candidates will be part of an interactive and interdisciplinary environment in one of the top physiology departments in the world and will work side-by-side with researchers uncovering fundamental basic biology and mechanisms of human disease using a wide range of molecular, cellular, and organismal systems. Qualifications include a Ph.D. and/or M.D., a strong record of research accomplishments, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion in the biomedical sciences, and the ability to develop and direct an independently funded research program.
