Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include health, vision, life, and dental insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement programs. Dependents and spouses of full time MSU employees are entitled to tuition waivers for dependents, up to 15 credits/year. The position is a nine-month appointment.

The Biomedical Sciences Department in the McQueary College of Health and Human Services at Missouri State University is searching for a colleague to join our vibrant and collegial department (one of three open positions). The position is for a tenure track, nine-month appointment at the Assistant Professor rank. We currently enroll more than 24,000 students (approximately 20,000 undergraduates and 4,000 graduate students). The Department of Biomedical Sciences has 12 full time faculty members, 12 graduate students (MS), and approximately 380 undergraduate majors. Responsibilities
We seek a candidate who can demonstrate a commitment to inclusive teaching practices and expertise in cell and molecular biology. Teaching responsibilities include instructing, advising, and supporting both undergraduate and graduate students as well as providing access to high impact practices aimed at increasing student retention, persistence, and success. Research responsibilities include development of an active research program involving undergraduate and graduate (M.S.) students resulting in peer-reviewed publications and applications for extramural funding to support research. Candidates should provide service to the department, college, university, and community to fulfill the Public Affairs Mission.

Qualifications
A doctorate (Ph.D.) in cellular biology, molecular biology, or closely related field
Ability to teach courses in human-focused cell biology and related electives such as neurobiology, cancer biology, embryology, signal transduction, virology, histology, molecular biology, biotechnology, or pharmacology
Potential for, or evidence of, application of innovative, learner-centered pedagogy
Involvement and ability to engage undergraduate and graduate students in biomedical science research
A publication record in peer-reviewed journals
Ability or potential to mentor and support our student population
Ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds
The Biomedical Sciences Department is one of eleven academic units in the McQueary College of Health and Human Services and teaches a human-focused curriculum in medical biosciences (McQueary College of Health and Human Services). The department offers undergraduate degree programs in Biomedical Sciences (options in cell & molecular biology, anatomy & physiology, human health sciences) and Clinical Laboratory Sciences/Medical Technology, and a Master of Science program in Biomedical Sciences (options in cell & molecular biology and anatomy & physiology). Minors are offered in human life sciences, molecular biology, and exercise biology. The department offers coursework that supports programs in physician assistant studies, sports medicine and athletic training, occupational therapy, nurse anesthesia and nursing. The department facilities provide a standard array of shared equipment, including tissue culture laboratories, a histology lab, fluorescence microscopes, and access to an electron microscopy facility.
