Postdoctoral Fellow and/or Junior Research Faculty positions are available immediately in our lab to conduct basic, translational and drug discovery sciences on cardiac hypertrophy, arrhythmia, and failure. Particularly, we are focusing on studies of the molecular genesis, functional roles, and signaling mechanisms of cell calcium, ion channels, reactive oxygen species, inflammatory molecules, and other signaling molecules. Candidates should have good training in molecular and cell biology, physiology, and/or pharmacology. Hands-on experience in transgenic mice, mitochondrial biology, protein biochemistry, and/or genetics are desirable. The successful candidates are expected to possess a strong work-oriented ethic, proficiently make experiment design and preparation beforehand, efficiently complete experiments and data analysis, and promptly present results. Yong-Xiao Wang had MD and Ph.D and now is a Full Professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Physiology at Albany Medical College. Dr. Wang’s current research focuses on basic, translational, and drug discovery research in cardiovascular and respiratory muscle biology and diseases. He has had numerous publications in Nature Commun (impact factor: 17.694), Antioxid Redox Signal (8.401), Proc Natl Acad Sci USA (12.779), Nature (69.504), Circ Res (23.218), and other highly peer-reviewed journals and served as the editorial board member, section editor, and the executive committee member and/or subcommittee chair.
