The Exercise Science and Kinesiology program at Juniata College invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Exercise Physiology. This is a This is a full-time 3-year fixed term position, with the potential to convert to a tenure-track position. Rank is open based on qualifications and experience. Expected start: August 2025.

Teaching assignments will include introductory through upper-level courses in exercise science and kinesiology including exercise physiology, exercise testing and prescription, anatomy and physiology, sports nutrition, strength and conditioning, biology, general education, and related courses as needed.
The Exercise Science and Kinesiology program started in the Fall of 2023 and is in pursuit and maintenance of CAAHEP-CoAES accreditation. The new faculty member will be involved in the development of clinical partnerships, curriculum design, and the development, maintenance and function of the Exercise Physiology laboratory. Ability to develop new course material in exercise physiology and other areas of expertise, and experience and ability to work with a culturally and nationally/internationally diverse student body.
This position will require creative collaboration with faculty, athletics, a student-centered approach to teaching and advising, assistance with student career development, participation in scholarly and professional development activities, and contribution to the development and maintenance of the program and the college.
Qualified candidates will possess a doctorate in Exercise Science, or closely related field, with an Exercise Physiology concentration. The ideal candidate will possess teaching experience at the university level, related professional experience, an active and strong scholarly agenda, a willingness to improve and grow the exercise science and kinesiology program, demonstrated ability to collaborate, effective communication skills, and a strong commitment to teaching and experiential learning. Academic research experience with undergraduate student mentoring, and experience in managing Exercise Physiology Laboratories. Professional certification in the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) is required; certifications in ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist and National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and/or Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) are highly desirable.
Experience, competency and proficiency running exercise physiology equipment, fitness assessment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and protocols, coordinating experiments/labs and research projects, and maintaining the overall functionality and efficiency of the lab.
