Skidmore College invites applications for two full-time faculty replacement positions at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor in the Health and Human Physiological Sciences Department for the 2025-2026 academic year. The positions will be for 1-year.
The successful candidate will be able to teach several courses from among the following: Exercise Physiology, Exercise Physiology Lab, Nutrition, Exercise Testing and Prescription, and/or Human Anatomy & Physiology Lab. The successful candidate will join an energetic and collegial department that is passionate about teaching undergraduates. The position involves teaching 18 contact hours per year, which approximates a 3:2 course load. However, the department views this opportunity as a teaching postdoc with opportunity for mentorship and professional development through the department and the Center for Leadership, Teaching, and Learning (CLTL). Collaborative research opportunities (pre-clinical to clinical/applied physiology) will be available and encouraged, though not required.
Qualifications: a Ph.D. in the area of exercise/applied physiology/kinesiology, although A.B.D. candidates and applicants with an MS degree will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience.
