The Gastroenterology Program at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) has a strong foundation of expertise using translational small and large animal models to study gastrointestinal diseases of comparative relevance to One Health. Focus areas encompass a central theme of microenvironment-mucosal interactions with key program strength in gut mucosal responses to injury, stress, and epithelial-pathogen interactions.
