Duquesne University, with the guidance of a benefits consultant and a Benefits Committee comprised of faculty, administrators, support staff and union representatives, has worked diligently to formulate a competitive benefits package designed to provide a variety of choices to fit your needs and the needs of your family.

New full-time hires are eligible on the first of the month coinciding with or following their date of hire for comprehensive medical benefits, including dental and vision insurance; flexible spending accounts; life insurance; and AD&D and long term disability.

Full-time employees at Duquesne University also receive other exceptional benefits such as generous vacation, retirement savings plans and access to a state of the art recreation and fitness facility.  A tiered tuition remission program is also offered to all employees and their eligible dependents.

Commitment to Service

In fact, the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) recognized Duquesne's commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement for a seventh consecutive year, naming the University to its 2013 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll with Distinction.

Employees can share their time and talent as members of the Duquesne University Volunteer (DUV) network that provides hands-on help or in-kind donations to individuals or organizations on and off-campus.  Duquesne also embraces community-engaged teaching and learning through service-learning, a teaching method that is used extensively throughout all majors and degrees.
