At Alfaisal University's College of Medicine, our dedicated Department of Physiological Sciences aims to produce the next generation of skilled and innovative researchers, physicians, educators, and leaders. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated faculty member to join our team at this prestigious institution nestled in the heart of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Position: Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Physiological Sciences

Location: Department of Physiological Sciences, College of Medicine, Alfaisal University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Responsibilities:

• Actively teach, advise, mentor, and evaluate students in a manner that exemplifies excellence and care.
• Deliver high-quality teaching in undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including lectures, Team-based Learning (TBL) sessions, Problem based Learning sessions (PBLs) laboratory sessions, and tutorials.
• Prepare teaching materials including cases, presentations, pre-reading assignments, practice questions, quizzes, workbooks or other as required.
• Assist in the creation and review of formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and performance. Proctor written examinations as required.
• Assist leadership in ensuring that the curriculum is integrated, clinically relevant, delivered in a logical manner and that content is at a depth and breadth suitable for learners who will enter clinical practice.
• Supervise and mentor graduate students in research projects.
• Secure research grants and support the department in advancing cutting-edge research initiatives. 
• Engage in scholarly activities such as publications in reputed journals and presentations at national and international conferences. 
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new curricula and programs Participate in and support standing committees, task forces, academic and operational plans and initiatives as appointed / elected and/or determined by the Dean and Chair.
• Support academic advisement and student outreach programs. 

Requirements:

• Earned doctoral degree (MD, DO or MD/PhD, or equivalent degree) from an accredited institution of higher education.
• Evidence of excellence in medical education preferred, with demonstrated teaching/facilitating experience and skill in presenting to students and colleagues.
• Strong track record of academic achievements and research productivity
• Experience in teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels
• Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse and multicultural academic community.
• Solid technological skills and experience with virtual learning platforms (moodle), computer-assisted delivery of didactic and active learning content, video-conferencing and other academic / computing platforms (Zoom, Microsoft suite and Teams, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills in English. Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with faculty, staff, and students.
• Exhibit flexibility, adaptability and be open to and embrace creative, innovative, ideas of others.
